We're OUTTA here!

For a couple of days to go see the Grands

This is what they looked like last summer

No doubt they have all grown like weeds

Friday Cat Blogging: Raising Rico

The Boyz are enjoying playing with the baby in fact
both of them are acting as if
they are kittens themselves again

Rico has quite a bit more energy than the big cats do though,
so when they grow tired of his antics they

take refuge on the stairs

I'm thinking that won't work much longer

Fun with Google ( or Yahoo)

Someone got into my blog by searching
Astroworld rides for sale

Too bad they missed out on buying a rollercoaster by about 7 months....ha.

TV: Americas Got Talent

Bored with reruns I was flipping through and found what I thought would be yet another stupid and overly dramatized wanna be a (cook, dancer, inventor, actor, singer, etc.) show

Boy, was I wrong!

Americas Got Talent is fast paced, funny as hell, and best of all does not take it's self too seriously.

How many "talent" shows feature a magician pulling doves from everywhere but his ass, a stripper dress eerily like a Disney character, gang style clog dancing, and a giant Russian transvestite balancing swords in an angel costume.

I'm hooked.

TV: The View

If you were like me and hoping to see the fireworks on The View with Rosie O'Donnell replacing former moderator Meredith Viera, well there won't be any.

Star Jones announced today that she will be leaving the show.

"The show is taking a different direction
*insert big sigh here*
and I will not be returning in the fall"

Well, that just sucks.

ABC.com The View

TV: GMA

I had forgotten that Charles Gibson was leaving Good Morning America when I flipped on the TV this morning.

They were doing a "tribute to Charles" and it was so cheesy I thought he had died.

Gibson will be replacing Bob Woodruff who was of course tragically injured in January covering the war in Iraq and is still recovering from those injuries and Elizabeth Vargas who is going on maternity leave.

I'm thinking he GMA left last year too then came back, didn't he?

Thursday Beer Blogging: It's A BOMB!!

NO!

It's a beer sign!
Run for your lives!

The Astros: The Return of the Rocket

All eyes are on Minute Maid Park today where Roger Clemens will once again take the mound for the Houston Astros.

The Rocket in a June 1st news conference:

"I can get into a game situation and my body not respond like I want it to," he said. "I pushed my body hard, but I still need to get some competitive innings, stressful innings. I call them stressful innings because, at my age, it's stressful."

"I'm not riding around in the back of a convertible, waving my hat and selling tickets," he said. "They expect me to get on the field and win ballgames and do it the way they're used to seeing me do it"

Sounds excited to be back, doesn't' he?

TV: What's New?

I am finding television incredibly boring right now with 2 episodes of LOST last night.
*zzzzz*

Tonight ABC introduces a new prime-time game show
*insert announcer voice complete with echo*
Master of Champions

"Each week six competitors with some of the world's most unique talents face off in this one-hour competition to determine who is the best of the best. Our studio audience will pare the contestants down to three, who will then face the Panel of Champions for the final selection of one as the next Master of Champions! Contestants will participate in such unique and extreme challenges as the International Human Fireworks, Interpretive Pizza Tossing, Blind-folded Foot Archery, the Extreme Unicycle Obstacle Course and Amazing Drift Driving. The fearless competitors range in ages from ten up"

Sounds like the Olympics of freaks to me, count me in!

Shopping: Coupons!

I love this site for coupons because you don't have to register to take advantage of the offers.

I found a lot of coupons for items we use all the time and when I printed, some of them even came with recipes and rebates attached.

Shopping: I need a new monitor

My monitor went out today. It's been "going" out for awhile and of course I did nothing about it until today when it would not come on at all.

Luckily I had an old dinosaur of a monitor in the attic that I was able to drag down down the skinny fold up stairs without killing myself and it works though the colors are horrible.

Now I am surfing Best Buy and Circuit City, I didn't even know there were so many choices.

Suggestions on brand and type are appreciated

In Houston: TV Coverage of the Flooding

Yes it's raining and Yes a lot of Houston is getting some flooding but...

Just a few minutes ago, this poor reoorter is standing knee deep in yuck and snakes and God knows what, doing his job and then the camera paned to the right just a little only to see about 6 people standing on a totally dry sidewalk.

We are doing fine here, the lights went out briefly and the water is not even up to the fishing dock.

I think I'll take a nap.

Speaking of Name Tags

I do wear mine most of the time being a Realtor, I don't want to miss a chance at a potential lead.

It is funny though, how often I am just in line at a store or bank and complete strangers will start telling me their real estate nightmarish experience with their own realtor, or mortgage person.

I wish I could tell them the other side of the story, but there are just not enough hours...Nope.

I'm So Blonde: And some people just give me the creeps

So am pushing my cart down the grocery store aisle at my local Kroger and I have not turned around but I can feel someone is right behind me in my personal space.

I stop in the Mexicana, sorry-- the "international foods"-- section and I am looking for those eatable salad bowl things made out of tortillas.
Do you know I cannot find those anywhere anymore???
I used to buy those for at home taco salad all the time.

Anyways...This guy goes around me and turns his cart to face mine and says.
Hi, Pam how's it going with you today?

Ok, that really freaks me out and I say "just fine how are you" like I know him
But of course I am thinking who is this freaky creepy stalker guy?

I went on with my shopping, purposely lingering a while longer looking for those damn salad bowls.

Well
I was all the way outside and in my car before I remembered that I was wearing my name tag from work. What a relief.

NOT that the guy was not creepy, because he was but at least he didn't know my name or where I work.

oh, yeah I guess he does...Ugh.

Shopping: Super Sucky Walmart

So I am in Super Sucky Walmart to buy the 7' cast net that
John wants for Father's Day.

The cashier greets me and scans my one item
Bleep
Item Not Found
Bleep
Item Not Found
Bleep
Item Not Found

Girl in Blue Smock: Well, I can't sell it to you because it does not scan
Me: Excuse me?
Girl in Blue Smock: I'm sorry, but it doesn't scan
Me: OK....bye

NOw, I could have insisted she call for a price check, or I could have gone to customer service with it myself, but I left.

Some things in life are just not worth the drama.

The boys each got a peek and and a sniff and now he is tucked safely in my room with all the babycat comforts so we can do the introductions slowly.

It's a bird, it's a plane.....NO....

It's a kite!

Note to Self>>avoiding flip-flop burn

feet deserve sunscreen too

*ouch*

On The Island: Sand Castles (how do they DO that)

Well, first they put a pump out in the water so they can use
hoses to keep the sand moist
pump

They use wood forms to start the project
form

then they pack the sand in and remove the form, in this
case the castle crumbled and they had to start over
fall

Then the detailing begins

To be continued....

On The Island: Sand Castles

Grabbing my sunscreen and heading out to the annual AIA sand castle competition on East Beach in Galveston.

This is the first year I have been able to go during and not after the competition so I am really looking forward to it.

I'm So Blonde (and I don't type too good either)

I looked at some lots for an out of state client today.

Her name is Tina and was trying to hurry and email the pictures I took so I can move on to something more interesting.

Well, I go through my entire data base searching for Tina because I have deleted her last email and now can not remember what the heck her last name is.

Tina is nowhere to be found.
OH, wait.... I've just spent half an hour searching for TUNA.

No wonder.

I must need an off day, or maybe a sandwich.

I Won, Sorta

Me and 31,278 other losers won 3 bucks last night in the Texas Lotto.

I have a ten draw ticket with four chances left so I hope I don't forget and toss it at the end.
This is the first time I have won anything since the demise
of the bonus ball.

woo hoo.
