The Bachelor
Prince Lorenzo seemed to be having a difficult time choosing his true love last night.
In fact, something tells me he may have just flipped a coin off camera.
The ring went to Jen, but Sadie may be the lucky one.

On The Island: Bah HUmbug!
This years big tree lighting ceremony has been cancelled due to lack of co-operation between the major sponsor Landry's and the City of Galveston.
We lived a few blocks down from this event for five years and always enjoyed the local school children performing Christmas music, Santa's arrival in a helicopter and ultimately a giant Christmas tree lit in all it's glory. Truly this is an event for locals and not tourist oriented.
Maybe the city has decided providing family entertainment for it's hard working citizens is not as much of importance as hiring an outside source for tips on promoting the island.
What a shame.

Give Him A Hand
John's bandages come off today and the stitches come out.
He will be evaluated to see if he will need therapy or not.
He is so happy to get this done already.
Please send healing thoughts that the surgery was successful.
Update: The stitches really hurt coming out and I tried not to look but couldn't help myself.
The doc said he is healing nicely and gave him some exercises to before his next visit.
He was glad he held back some of those good pills, because he was really hurting after this visit.

On The Island: A Name Change?
A consulting firm hired by the Galveston Park Board of Trustees has recommended that the City of Galveston consider changing it's name to make the destination more marketable for tourism.
Honestly, I think adding the word "Island" to the name of the city would not be as effective as finding a way to deal with our homeless population who are constantly approaching tourists or the prostitutes and drug dealers hanging around every night on the east end of Seawall Blvd clearly giving our city a bad image.
Just my opinion.

On My Soapbox
I got a summons to appear for Jury Duty for the City Municipal Court next month.
It says to mail the summons back with the survey filled out by November 30th and then farther down--it says to "bring the entire summons to court"
So which is it?
Mail ahead or bring it in?
Speaking of City Hall.
I used my debit card in the parking meter last month when I attended a closing on the Island.
I knew there were meters and did I bring quarters? Of course not.
It was 3 bucks minimum, so I swiped my card and went about my business.
So now I see my bank statement this month is off by 3 dollars.
They charged me twice.
Will I fight City Hall for 3 bucks.
Hell, yeah.
What are they going to do.....call me in for Jury Duty?

Shopping: Holiday Party Dress
Isn't this cute?
I tried it on at Express today and it looked horrible.
It hits mid knee, a very unflattering length and the bust gaps.
It was really ugly.
In fact.... everything I tried on looked horrible on me today.
I did pick up a red silk blouse to wear with my velvet pants from last years party, but I didn't try it on or most likely I would have left it hanging as well.
and..
I don't even know if those pants still fit.
This was not a good day for shopping, I guess

Work Related: Working From Home
Trump University and Office 2 Share.com are sponsoring The Home Office From Hell Contest.
The winner gets to have lunch with George Ross in NYC and gets free rent on a real office for a year.
Not that a home office is not a real office, because it is.
You just get to work in your pyjamas with a cat on your lap and you don't have to share your bathroom with strangers.
I like it like that.

Work Related: Showing Instructions
Showing instructions are normally limited to the combo on the lock box, turn off the lights, don't let the cats out, and/or please leave a buisness card.
So I am making appointments for today and receive these instructions
There is a large dog in the back yard
The dog's name is Bruiser
There are treats in a bowl by the back door.
Please give Bruiser a treat before showing the backyard.
Man, I hope these people don't want to see the backyard.

I'm So Blonde: and so forgetful too
So I bought this little carameled apple kit.
It's really easy, you just wrap a prestamped circle of caramel over each apple and put in a stick. Even a blonde can do that, right?
The instructions say bake 5 minutes at 200 degrees.
About 40 minutes later.....I was smelling something.
It smelled yummy, like apple pie.
Then I remembered.

TV: Show Me The Money
This show is horrible.
It's loud and cheezy.
The rules and questions are strange and complicated.
I have no comment on the sleazy dancers.
I hope it is dealt the "killer card" very soon
Surely William Shatner has better things to do.
Yuck.

In Houston: Charley Gibson
ABC World News Tonight with Charles Gibson is broadcasting live from Eleanor Tinsely Park near Downtown Houston. I'm glad we are having nice weather for him to be standing outside in and I really hope he is wearing his mosquito repellent.
Shopping: On-line specials
I prefer to do most of my holiday shopping online.
If you like to shop on line too, check out Ker-ching for lots of online coupon codes and specials.
I just completed my toy shopping at K-mart.com and got free shipping.
I like free.
Speaking of holiday shopping, I popped into the mall to kill some time between clients Saturday and guess who is already sitting in his big chair and selling over priced 5x7's to worn out parents of screaming babies?
Ugh, can we just have Thanksgiving first?

The Bachelor: The Final Two
After a trio of overnight fantasy dates, Lorenzo has narrowed the field down to two.
Jen, blonde and conservative and Sadie, blonde and conservative.
Lisa was sent away in tears after the Prince decided she may be more into "The Bachelor" the show than the bachelor himself.

The Apprentice: Updates and Observations
Talk about spoilers!
The London Free Press hints that Apprentice 6 Candidate and hockey star, Angela Ruggiero may have made it into the final two.
The show finally returns to NBC January 10th having wrapped up filming way back in June.
Remember the job in Hawaii that last year's winner Sean turned down?
Well, those condo's do not start construction until next month, but the luxury suites have already sold out at an average of 1.5 million each. In fact they were only on market a for few hours before 700 million dollars in offers were on the table, wow.
And now for a little gossip...
Ivanka recently celebrated her 25th birthday, and it was not with Lance Armstrong.

On The Canal
This morning we saw all kinds of official vehicles and a news truck blocking the feeder by our subdivision.
I made a joke and said, "maybe they found a body"
Well... They that is exactly what they found
There are dive teams out in the water now, I guess looking for evidence.
How awful.
UPDATE: HERE

Work Related: License Renewal
I can't believe it's been almost a year since I was posting about the stress of getting my Real Estate License. But now it is almost time to renew.
I have to have 30 more hours of school to get this done and STILL have not passed the online finance class I amhope to be using for this.
I am taking my study materials with me to the hospital today and since I have already taken the day off from work will give it a try again this evening.
Positive thoughts are appreciated...:)

I think it is Rhett this time around.

I sure The Brothers did not appreciate that the puke was IN the food bowl.

I'm running my feet off, or is it my tires off?
Regardless I have some deals in the works, some close to being deals in the works and working with some really nice and fun clients for a change.
I am also putting out a lot of fires, today I dealt with a forest fire.
They do not tell you in Real Estate School that you will have to be a fire fighter.
You only learn that lesson after getting burned a couple of times.
Lesson Learned.
