A consulting firm hired by the Galveston Park Board of Trustees has recommended that the City of Galveston consider changing it's name to make the destination more marketable for tourism.
Honestly, I think adding the word "Island" to the name of the city would not be as effective as finding a way to deal with our homeless population who are constantly approaching tourists or the prostitutes and drug dealers hanging around every night on the east end of Seawall Blvd clearly giving our city a bad image.
Just my opinion.
