Shopping: Pet Toy Product Alert

Please be careful if your kitty has a toy like this . We read on a message board today that an online friend's kitty choked on one of the googly eyes that had come loose (he's OK now)
Rhett has a similar toy, and now it is eyeless.

The Bachelor: Final Post

Thankfully, Dr. Travis and Sarah have finally
announced they are no longer a couple.

No Cream, No Sugar Please

If your morning begins with a cup of coffee (or in my case an entire pot)
you may want to read this article from Yahoo News.

Then again you might not.

The Apprentice

Just for fun, a few more personal sites from our candidates.

Pepi (fired last week) has an attractive site and a photo of himself with Bill Clinton.
He also as a list of awards flying through the index page...cool.

Roxanne
has a retro-look going featuring rollover buttons and pictures of herself doing jazzersize...yeah, that's interesting.

Charmaine like so many other is mostly photos and partially "under construction"
I like her and wish there was more about her on her personal space.

and
Dan has a timeline on his bio page going all the way back to his birth.
Thanks for sharing, Dan.

Time to Tighten the Belt

With retirement looming only a decade away, we are becoming increasingly concerned about money, or lack of it.

In an effort to better use the money we do have and the money I hope to be making soon, we have enlisted the service of a financial consultant.

I think it will be a useful service, but getting the paperwork together was a pain and presenting it to the guy was somewhat embarrassing.

Like we needed to be told we spend more than we make.
Well maybe we did.

I forgot!

I can't believe it.....I forgot to vote yesterday.

The Apprentice: The Easiest Task Ever

Lenny hit the nail on the head when he said this is the easiest task ever.
All they had to do was stand on the corner and ask people to text a one word message and promote the new Gillette razor "fusion".
Frustrated with PM Lee and Team Goldrush spending too much time brainstorming, he took to the street and went right to work helping his team to a win.

Team Synergy lead by Pepi got a late start and decided to blame Brent for the loss. Trump also focused on Michael who had the idea of wearing bathrobes to get attention.
Stacy is fired for not being able to "handle" Brent and Pepi is fired for poor leadership.
Brent, who in my opinion did not deserve the treatment he got from his team goes on to play another day.

Remember the Alamo

Today is Alamo day.
I took these day-time and night-time pictures a couple of years ago and had to wait a very
long time to get them with no tourists in the way.
The green sign in the background is for the Crockett Hotel where we stayed and I got stuck in the elevator there....that's a long story.

Oopsy!

Looks like somebody took the turn onto our street a little wide last night.

Now I am looking around at my neighbor's cars to see who is the drunk driver.
I'm just nosey that way.

Bad Kitty! Part: (who's counting)

I only left him for a minute, just to fill my coffee and there he was standing on the unscreened part of the screened porch like that was a normal thing to be doing. Then he casually hops back through this gaping hole in the screen that had magically appeared.

Music to Drive By

I am driving a lot now and though I normally listen to TalkRadio I thought I would pick up some new music. I chose this and this.

I also have Jimmy Buffet, Jim Croce, the soundtrack to West Side Story and the soundtrack of Jesus Christ Superstar to round out the 6 slots in my player.

You should hear me belting out "Bad Bad Leroy Brown" going down the gulf freeway....well maybe you shouldn't....ha

The Apprentice

Just for fun, a few of the candidate's personal Web Sites.

Allie has lots of sexy photos on her site but little substance.

Andrea's site is difficult to navigate and took awhile to load.
The music is annoying, and I didn't stay long enough to see what was inside.

Brent's little home-made site was a huge disappointment. I really wanted to know more about the weight loss business he spoke of, but it is not even mentioned.

More to come.........

A Trip to the V-E-T

Rafe is going to the v-e-t tomorrow for his yearly checkup.

They have to make sure he is
1. still in remission from his Autoimmune disease and
2. he is not being hurt by the prednisone he takes to keep it suppressed.

I'm sure some mention will be made of his w-i-e-g-h-t....Sigh.

Purrs and Prayers are appreciated, I think I hate going to the V-E-T more that he does.

Update: It went well, they tested Rafe's blood and he is in good health, no sign of damage..:)

The Apprentice 5: Let the Games Begin

The season premiere of The Apprentice was rather blah, as was the first task of selling Sam's Club Memberships.

The candidates except for a couple are very young and I could have sworn we've seen Brent before, oh wait that was Markus.

Pick Your Poison
After the candidates introduce themselves, The Donald chooses 2 project managers and instruct them to start choosing a team-- grade school style.
They name themselves "Synergy" and "Gold Rush" and get right to work.

Staying On Task
Allie and Team Synergy brainstorm some ideas that are good and bad. They decide to give free manicures and massages to anyone who upgrades their Sam's Club Membership. Both teams are given a GoodYear Blimp to push the sales and Brent is angry at being chosen to ride in it.

Tarek, PM for Gold Rush, is a Mensa member and in case you forget that fact....he will remind you everytime he opens his mouth. The team seems to be a dollar short on marketing ideas, but settle on a free totebag for everyone that walks in whether or not they upgrade the membership. Summer was told to call area business owners and invite them to the party but she only made one call. I think they should have printed up some quick invitations and hand delivered them instead, but they didn't ask me did they?

And the Winner is...
Back in the boardroom our candidates are all confident they have won the task. The numbers speak for themselves. Synergy has won by only three and are rewarded lunch with Trump.

In the suite, Gold Rush is mourning the loss and Tarek and Lenny are doing some damage control. Tarek is instructing Lee on what to say and Lenny is telling Summer to say nothing.
Later, the team is sitting before Trump. Lee speaks against Tarek, and Tarek who is supposed to be among the top 2% of the world in intelligence (just ask him) invites Lee back into the boardroom along with Lenny and Summer.

There's One Every Season
Just when Trump is about to fire PM Tarek ( a member of Mensa..don't forget) Summer stupidly interrupts him. Even AFTER Trumps warns her she does it again.
Summer......You're fired.

Note to candidates: If Donald Trump tells you to shut-up......shut-the-hell-up.

The Bachelor: Travis Makes His Choice

In a two hour finale that was almost as boring as the two hour finale of Dancing With the Stars, Travis chooses Sarah from Nashville to wear a beautiful diamond ring...on a chain.

I felt sorry for Moana. First her meet the parents date was unfairly painful, then she had a wardrobe malfunction coming out of the limo only to be sent home in tears by the good doctor. I couldn't help but think the intense complexity of Moana's personality may have scared him a little, and he decided to play it safe.

Not that Sarah is not a lovely woman and a good match for the laid back doctor.
I'm sure as long as he stays in Nashville forever making babies it will all work out fine for her.
And.....
Hopefully she will get that ring on her finger soon.
