On the Island: Anniversary of Ike

There is a lot going on in Galveston this week to
remember the storm, celebrate how far the city has
come, and provide much needed
fund raising efforts for continued recovery

I've been thinking about you this past week...wondering how y'all are doing after nearly a year since last fateful September. I'm gonna get to Galveston one of these days and check the progress!! When it cools down and no threat of hurricane season. LOL

Hey...regarding our 'well behaved cats'?---all ours do is poop and puke. LOLOLOL

That picture is so good. The huge waves about to fall upon the residents of the island.

Thank goodness no hurricanes for us so far this year, but we are getting rain today from that small low that formed in the Gulf the other day.

What a neat statue that is! I would really like to see that in person! What is the "wave" made out of? Is it a wave? Or is it trees? I bigged it to try to tell... I don't think it's trees...

I wonder how much the people of Galveston have to put into these fundraisers if they are still trying to rebuild their own lives... I hope you get a lot of "guests" visiting the city this weekend -- and spending LOTS of money!
