Shopping: Holiday Party Dress

Isn't this cute?
I tried it on at Express today and it looked horrible.
It hits mid knee, a very unflattering length and the bust gaps.
It was really ugly.
In fact.... everything I tried on looked horrible on me today.
I did pick up a red silk blouse to wear with my velvet pants from last years party, but I didn't try it on or most likely I would have left it hanging as well.
and..
I don't even know if those pants still fit.

This was not a good day for shopping, I guess

Work Related: Working From Home

Trump University and Office 2 Share.com are sponsoring The Home Office From Hell Contest.

The winner gets to have lunch with George Ross in NYC and gets free rent on a real office for a year.

Not that a home office is not a real office, because it is.

You just get to work in your pyjamas with a cat on your lap and you don't have to share your bathroom with strangers.

I like it like that.

Work Related: Showing Instructions

Showing instructions are normally limited to the combo on the lock box, turn off the lights, don't let the cats out, and/or please leave a buisness card.

So I am making appointments for today and receive these instructions

There is a large dog in the back yard
The dog's name is Bruiser
There are treats in a bowl by the back door.
Please give Bruiser a treat before showing the backyard.

Man, I hope these people don't want to see the backyard.

I'm So Blonde: and so forgetful too

So I bought this little carameled apple kit.

It's really easy, you just wrap a prestamped circle of caramel over each apple and put in a stick. Even a blonde can do that, right?

The instructions say bake 5 minutes at 200 degrees.

About 40 minutes later.....I was smelling something.
It smelled yummy, like apple pie.

Then I remembered.

TV: Show Me The Money

This show is horrible.
It's loud and cheezy.
The rules and questions are strange and complicated.
I have no comment on the sleazy dancers.
I hope it is dealt the "killer card" very soon
Surely William Shatner has better things to do.
Yuck.

Show Me The Money

In Houston: Charley Gibson

ABC World News Tonight with Charles Gibson is broadcasting live from Eleanor Tinsely Park near Downtown Houston. I'm glad we are having nice weather for him to be standing outside in and I really hope he is wearing his mosquito repellent.

Shopping: On-line specials

I prefer to do most of my holiday shopping online.
If you like to shop on line too, check out Ker-ching for lots of online coupon codes and specials.
I just completed my toy shopping at K-mart.com and got free shipping.
I like free.

Speaking of holiday shopping, I popped into the mall to kill some time between clients Saturday and guess who is already sitting in his big chair and selling over priced 5x7's to worn out parents of screaming babies?
Ugh, can we just have Thanksgiving first?

Talk about spoilers!
The London Free Press hints that Apprentice 6 Candidate and hockey star, Angela Ruggiero may have made it into the final two.

The show finally returns to NBC January 10th having wrapped up filming way back in June.

Remember the job in Hawaii that last year's winner Sean turned down?
Well, those condo's do not start construction until next month, but the luxury suites have already sold out at an average of 1.5 million each. In fact they were only on market a for few hours before 700 million dollars in offers were on the table, wow.

And now for a little gossip...
Ivanka recently celebrated her 25th birthday, and it was not with Lance Armstrong.

On The Canal

This morning we saw all kinds of official vehicles and a news truck blocking the feeder by our subdivision.

I made a joke and said, "maybe they found a body"
Well... They that is exactly what they found

There are dive teams out in the water now, I guess looking for evidence.

How awful.

Work Related: License Renewal

I can't believe it's been almost a year since I was posting about the stress of getting my Real Estate License. But now it is almost time to renew.

I have to have 30 more hours of school to get this done and STILL have not passed the online finance class I am hope to be using for this.

I am taking my study materials with me to the hospital today and since I have already taken the day off from work will give it a try again this evening.

Positive thoughts are appreciated...:)

Cat Puke

The mystery puker has returned.
I think it is Rhett this time around.
His favorite mousie was next to the food bowl.
I sure The Brothers did not appreciate that the puke was IN the food bowl.
yuck

Long Day

John is having surgery today.
It is outpatient and not life threatening, but still it's surgery.
I will post when we get home from the hospital.
Thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

Update: We're home.
He feels fine on his pain meds and still has a
hand free to scratch a kitty butt.

I'm running my feet off, or is it my tires off?

Regardless I have some deals in the works, some close to being deals in the works and working with some really nice and fun clients for a change.

I am also putting out a lot of fires, today I dealt with a forest fire.

They do not tell you in Real Estate School that you will have to be a fire fighter.
You only learn that lesson after getting burned a couple of times.

100 Word Stories

As submitted to Weekly Challenge #27
The subject is Pizza

===================================

Things were going pretty well with Paula and her new Beau

She could not believe such a catch of a guy was not already taken.

He opened the door for her, sent flowers, and even on occasion…cooked her dinner.

Surely, at last, this was “the one”

They laughed and cuddled and had begun planning a future together.

Then one evening her dreams were shattered.

Paula walked into the kitchen to find a horrible site.

What in the hell are you doing?

She screeched, then burst into tears.

Oh, this could never work now.

He had cut the pizza into squares.

Work Related: Recalling emails?

I always laugh when some one in the office sends out an email, then right after another email comes that says......
"whoever" would like to recall the message titled "whatever"

Usually this happens because the person sent some mis-information, or the right information went out to the wrong agents or it was an unfinished draft that got sent by mistake.
Maybe by "recalling" the message the sender is hoping it will not be read?
Right.

Whatever the reason, trying to recall an email from cyberspace is like herding cats.
It just cannot be done.

Working Sick

I've been working sick the last few days and blogging has been the last thing on my mind.

Work Related: A New Sales Strategy

Well, I met with a new client this evening to see a couple of properties.
The second one did not have electric and by 7pm it is getting pretty dark.

Well I keep a big flashlight in the trunk for those male clients that like to look behind stuff and up in attics--you know who you are-- and got it out for us to use.

So here we are going around in this dark house with the flashlight.
We couldn't see crap.
It was all rather ridiculous and I said, why don't I just meet you back over here in the morning.

She said, no I like it...Let's make an offer.

Maybe I should show them all in the dark...Ha.

Friday Cat Blogging: Black Cat

For Friday the 13th an old photo of Chandra and her kitty Al Pacino.
Pacino was born to a feral mother and never really tamed down enough to keep in the house. He never went to anyone but Chandra, and even let her dress him in doll clothes and put him in her dolly stroller. Pacino grew up to be a huge cat, but I don't think we ever took any other photos of him.

==================================

There was no expression on Paula’s face
as she watched the flames engulf the Bayside Lounge.

As if in a trance, she stood quietly,
oblivious to the activities around her.

The wind blew hot air into her face and
smoke into her eyes, but still she stood.

Only moments before she was laughing and
enjoying Friday Happy Hour with her friends.

Everyone had gotten out safely but were now
pointing and whispering as if she had done something wrong.

This wasn’t her fault.

How could she have known daring a co-worker to light a fart
could cause this much trouble?

I'm So Blonde

So I had my "Well Woman" checkup yesterday.

The doctor was checking this one and that one and I am looking at the ceiling.
*La La La*

Then he moves onto phase two and casually says
"You must have a cat"

"Yes I do" I said, suddenly horrified.
"Why? Do you see some cat hair on me?????"

He burst out laughing and said NO of course not, but he had noticed a big scratch on my tummy.

I told him that was good because I always try to only carry the cat hair outside my clothes.

It's really hard to think up something intelligent to say in that situation.

The Bachelor

I hadn't really planned on blogging ABC's The Bachelor this season, but with two local girls receiving roses on the season premiere last night I cannot resist a comment or two.

Jami is from Galveston. She seems to have kind of a rough edge about her and says "Crap" a lot.

Erica
is from Houston and her job description is "socialite".
She already thinks she is a princess and I was a little surprised she is going forward.

The setting is Rome this time and 27 women wined and whined last night for a chance to get to know The Bachelor, Prince Lorenzo.
Only 12 will continue the journey, the rest were sent home in tears.
Should be fun.

100 Word Stories

The Stepping Stones
A 100 Word Story submitted to the Weeky Challenge
at http://podcasting.isfullofcrap.com

Looking around at her neighbor’s well manicured lawns,
Paula decided she wanted to spruce things up a little bit.

She bought some plants at the local hardware store and spent the entire afternoon digging holes and planting an attractive assortment of greenery.

Then, she carefully chose just the right stepping stones and
placed them in the dirt forming a lively little garden path.

Beautiful! Just like in a magazine” she smiled proudly.

The next morning (running late as usual)
Paula caught her heel, then hit her head on those very stumbling blocks that she had so carefully created for herself.

It's not a LoJack, it's a cell phone

Have you seen the commercial with the kid who presents his parents with an itinerary for his day?
I think it is for a Disney cell phone.

Anyway, the parents check on the kid later in the day, by logging in to see where his phone is located.
"He is still at the big tree" Dad smiles

Well, my first thought was the PHONE is at the big tree and the little brat is off doing something he should NOT be doing and will pick up the phone later assuming Mom and Dad are too stupid to figure it all out.

At least that is how it would have worked at my house.

Sorry, Josh....but you know that is the truth....haha.
