I'm so blonde: I can't believe I did this
I ran a red light on my way home last night.
This is not an unfamiliar road, but I went right (safely thank God) through it.
What is REALLY dumb is that last time I had jury duty it was for traffic court and the case was for a guy that caused a wreck when he did not yield at that very intersection.
Weird, huh?

Sewing Again?
I'm wanting to freshen things up a little with new place mats
and such so got out my sewing machine.
I can't believe how dusty it is, I guess it's been awhile!

Do people not feed their kids veggies anymore?
I picked up some items at the store on my way home today and the checker was very young.
What is this called? she asked staring at a bundle of Asparagus.
Next she picked up and stared at the cauliflower for a moment, like she could not think of the name of that either.
How sad.

TMobile, we have a problem
So I open a cell phone bill that is always without fail just under $85 dollars but this says $423.27. I'm not sure how that happened and the bill makes no sense to me, so just praying it's wrong.
Yeah, praying.
Yeah, praying.
On the Boardwalk
It really warmed up Sunday so we decided to head over
to the Kemah Boardwalk and enjoy some Gulf Shrimp.
We also fed the Rays, or well we tried.
They weren't hungry so wasted 5 bucks on 8 minnows
Still fun though.

TV: The Apprentice
She's back along with some celebrity players and it the male vs female this time for charity.
In the first task our candidates are selling New York hot dogs.
How fun for the people on the street happening along that sight!
The guys get right to work bringing in the big bucks, using resources "normal" apprentice candidate's would not have access too.
Omarosa first insists on being PM then totally misses the point of the task. She really thinks they can win selling 5 dollar hot dogs!
Her team does not stand up to her, even though they see the error in her thinking.
The result was a huge loss for the ladies.
Although Omarosa deserved to be fired, she manages to toss the Playmate under the bus and survives to see another boardroom.
In a fun twist the other team is allowed to watch the drama from their own war room. This could be a huge advantage going forward.
I totally expected to not like this season, but OK I'm hooked already and predicting
Marilu Henner to take the top spot.

New Year's Poets
If you like reading short Poetry, WaterMark is collecting New Year's Haiku
I'm feeling inspired, you?
I'm feeling inspired, you?
New Year's Meal
from HEB.com
Black-eyed peas & cabbage.
Some say the black-eyed pea's lucky streak dates back to the pharaohs. Others say it started in Vicksburg, Virginia, during the Civil War when the town ran out of food while under siege and the inhabitants were lucky enough to discover cow
peas (a.k.a., black-eyed peas). Meanwhile, cabbage leaves (a symbol of prosperity) are thought to bring prosperity to those who eat them on New Year's
Day.
The cornbread and jalapenos in the black eyed peas are a southern thing I suppose.
The sausage, we just like and the champagne is because we fell asleep too early last night to open it.
At $5.99 a bottle I suppose we didn't miss much..ha.
All I know is that I am way to superstitious to not eat the right food on the first day of the New Year..you know?
Looking Forward
I always look forward to the New Year.
Here are some changes I want to make going forward into 2008.
I'd love to hear yours too!
1. Blogging Related:
I love blogging, but I let it become a chore in 2007
I want to do "something" with Rico's blog even if it is to let it go.
Also, I had been working on a new look for this one and never finished that project.
I just want to make blogging fun again!
2. Work Related:
I finished the year ranked number 6 in our office (there are approx 60 agents).
I missed the coveted "top 5" by TWO freakin' houses!
This year I resolve to not get discouraged when things are slow because I realize no other agent beat me, I only beat myself .....and that is not cool.
3. Household Related:
OK! I admit it! My house is a pigsty! I thought working at home would be great but being home means getting the house dirty. John is helpful but he works a LOT and it's just not fair for him to be scrubbing a bathroom on his much needed off time.
I need to set aside part of my day to clean house, every day.
4. Health Related:
We are doing better here but more improvement can be made.
I got out of the habit of walking every day, but we are eating healthier and eating out much less.
I even bought a new crock pot for those evenings I am out showing homes late in the day and I'm looking forward to preparing more healthy meals with that.
We do need to do some personal maintenance too. For example we have dental insurance but have not been in a very long time. I guess I will wait for my glasses to fall apart before I go to the eye doctor again. It's been a REally long time for that too.
I don't know why I put that kind of stuff off, I really don't.
5. Pet Related:
I was thinking it would be a good idea to find a another pregnant cat and adopt all her progeny because the kittens I took in in 2007 are all grown up now.
(Gotcha)
6. Money Related:
Becoming self employed took a real hit on our finances.
Debt reduction has got to be a priority in 2008.
We will just have to leave a little farther below our means.
I never meant to be in debt again, this sucks!
7. Personal Note:
Wow if you got all the way down here you must really bored by now!
Thankyou for reading and I hope your New Year is all you are hoping for.
